Billy Joe Trammel

Billy Joe Trammel, 71, of Batesville died Tuesday, June 1, 2010. He was born Feb. 5, 1939, the son of Clifford Trammel and Alma Marie Story Trammel. He was self-employed as a hydraulic repairman. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids, giving them hugs and kisses and sharing his stories. He was a devout Christian man who loved his church, Newark Assembly of God. Billy always talked about how he loved his "Johnnie Wanda" and how he missed her.

Survivors include two sons, George Trammel and wife Linda of Cave City and Jerry Trammel of Cave City; four daughters, Vicki Hobeck and husband Mike of Manila, Lisa McManus and fiance Randy McSpadden of Bethesda, Leslie Ward of Manila and Wilma Gail Burrows and husband John of Hebert, La.; two half-sisters, Billie Dillion of Louisiana and Margie Scott of Tennessee; 17 grandchildren, A.J. Trammel, Amanda Hardy, Lindsey Trammel, Emily Trammel, Claudia Trammel, Zeke Trammel, Anne Burrow, Bobby Jo Morris, T.J. Morris, Stephanie Polston, Joey McManus, Dillon McManus, Joseph Ward, Jeremy Ward, Elizabeth Burrow, Rachel Burrows and Katie Burrows: 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnnie Wanda Trammel; an infant son; brothers, Robert and Michael Trammel; sisters, Dorothy Hackathorn and Ruth Trammel; and great-grandson, Landon Ward.

The funeral was 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, at First Church UPC in Batesville with Bro. Ken Light officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Cushman. Arrangements were by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers were Mike Hobeck, Bill Morris, A.J. Trammel, Jim Birkhead, Lester Moss and Dillon McManus.

Honorary pallbearers were Garrett Trammel and Gavin Trammel.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
