Carrol G. "Doc" Malloy

Carrol G. "Doc" Malloy, 76 of Leachville, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Freeman and Eula Agnes Pickett Malloy and was later preceded in death by his step-father, T.C. Andrews.

Mr. Malloy retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years service and returned to Leachville where he owned and operated his grocery store for many years. He was a member of Leachville First Baptist Church and served several years as teacher of the Men's Baracca Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy Harden, and a brother, R.W. Malloy.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Nell Thomas Malloy of the home; a son, Kevin Malloy and his wife Sandy of Marion; a daughter, Debby Harden and husband Jodie of Germantown; a brother, F.J. Malloy and wife Nina of Manila; sisters, Anna Beth Thomas and Marilyn Looney of Leachville; grandchildren, Bryan Malloy, Kimberly Malloy Mengarelli and Jonathan Harden; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Harden and Cohen Harden.

The funeral was held Tuesday, April 27, at Leachville First Baptist Church with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.

Pallbearers are Terry Cardy, Larry Denny, James Thomas, Tony Simpson, Charles Cobbs and Joe Hultquist. Baracca Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family received visitors Monday evening at the funeral home.
