James Henry Cox, 82, of Manila, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Gosnell Health Care Center. Born at New Albany, Miss., he was the son of the late John Henry and Bessie Mae Cox and had lived most of his life in Blytheville. He was a retired farmer and former employee of the City of Manila and had been a Manila resident for the past 15 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elois Mae Cox, and a daughter, Jessie Faye Mosley.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Moody Cox, of Gosnell; four daughters, Melba Argentine of Milton, Fla.; Kimberly Gann of Blytheville, Reshae Walker of Griffith, Ind., and Bessie McCullough of Blytheville; three sisters, Mable Pritz of Collinsville, Ill., Nanny Messer of Myrtle, Miss.; and Vivian Luker of Huntsville, Ala.; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Union Hill Cemetery near Pooleville, Miss. Burial is under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
