Ricky Taylor, 61, of Manila, was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, after a hard but short battle with cancer.

As an avid outdoor adventurer, his years spent in Manila were active; from building and flying his ultra-light airplane and other various experiments of duck blind and boat building. He loved scuba diving, fishing, hunting and geological research of the Mound Indians of Buffalo Island. He achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do karate. He was well known as a true Good Samaritan to everyone who knew him. He spent much of his free time voluntarily helping folks in various ways including rescuing anyone stuck in the snow on the side of the road to plowing the towns main streets and parking lots early before going work and weekends.

He was a true hero and father to one child, Cheryl Taylor Lanney. He is also survived by one grandson, Armas JC-Taylor Lanney.

Born in Trumann, Jan. 23, 1948, to Luther and Wanita Taylor, Ricky was the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. His brothers and sisters left behind on this earth are Ron Taylor, Donnie Taylor, Luther "Jed" Taylor, Patsy Richardson, Susie Facello, Janette Grammer, Paulette Sawyer, Diann Elrod, and half-brother, David Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

He is dearly missed and never forgotten.
