Dennis Carl Kemp, 49, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Cherokee Village after having health problems for many years. Mr. Kemp was born Sept. 14, 1959, to the late Carl Butler Kemp and Nellie Ruth Pilgrim Kemp in Canal Zone, Panama. He was an automotive body repair expert, an avid deer hunter, was an excellent shot with bow, black powder gun or rifle, enjoyed fishing, very kind hearted, never met a stranger, enjoyed life and being with family and friends.

Survivors include, a son, "C.J." Dennis Carl Kemp, Jr. of Cherokee Village; a daughter, Karen Ann Stallings of Cherry Valley; a brother, Danny Carl Kemp and wife Cindy of Cherry Valley; three sisters, Sharon Ruth Herman and husband Gary Don of Lepanto, Deborah Carline Simmons and husband Ernest of West Ridge, and Susan Rae Morris and husband Scott of Cherokee Village; three grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Kemp was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Christopher Carl Kemp.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Potter's Cemetery, Lepanto, with Rev. Huey Meherg officiating. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Faith Funeral Service, Manila, which was in charge of arrangements.
