Blytheville Mayor Barrett Harrison (back, right) and Blytheville City Council members Mylas Jeffers (far left), Carol White (left-center), R.L. Jones (back) and Shirley Overman (second from right) pose for a photo with Sen. Steve Bryles of Blytheville (center), Rep. Charolette Wagner (right-center) and some of Gov. Mike Beebe's staff during a trip to Little Rock last week. The Council visited with the governor's staff about the city's drainage, streets and condemned houses issues. The outreach liaison for the governor, Herman Williams, made a commitment to come to Blytheville within 30 days to examine some of the city's problems. The Council also met with Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). Harrison said ADEQ updated the Council on new reporting requirements.
