Bobby Joe Wesley Penix, 54, of Hornersville, Mo., formerly of Manila, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Little Rock, he was the son of the late Bobby Glen and Ruby Nell Shipley Penix. He was raised in Manila and had been a Hornersville resident since 1996. He was a farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Penix.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Davis Penix of Hornersville; a daughter, Amy Lee Davis of Hornersville; a brother, Jerrel Penix and his wife, Kreschia, of Leachville; a sister, Rebecca Ann Cole and her husband, Jamie, of Little Rock. He also leaves his mother and father-in-law, Mabel and Sarge Davis of Hornersville as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Harlan Fortner officiating. Burial was in the Horner Cemetery in Hornersville, Mo. The family received visitors Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
