Dwight Lee Dunkerson

Dwight Lee Dunkerson, 65, of Jonesboro, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born in Black Oak, he lived most of his life in Lake City and Jonesboro. He was retired from G.E. of Jonesboro with 38 years of service. He was an Arkansas National Guard veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma Dunkerson, and a stepdaughter, Billie LaWanda Rainey.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Rocky Dunkerson of the home; two sons, Justin Dunkerson of Indiana, and Rubel Dunkerson of Newport; a daughter, Casandra Dunkerson of North Carolina; a granddaughter of the home, Danielle Joyner; a sister, Patty Benson of Trumann; and two grandchildren, Caleb Dunkerson and Jordan Lindsey Dunkerson.

A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Wednesday with Bishop Robert Stafford officiating. Burial was private.

Visitation followed the memorial service.
