Lillian E. Butler, 78, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at her daughter's home in Jonesboro. Born in Lake City, she had lived in Jonesboro and Batesville most of her life. She worked several years as a restaurant manager for Coleman's Bar-B-Q in Jonesboro and Batesville. She was a member of In His Steps Ministry of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Butler; two sisters, Mildred Stewart and Edna Gatlin; and a granddaughter, Whitney Johnson.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Payton of Silsbee, Texas, and Glenda Thomas, Bonita Pace and Pam Simmons, all of Jonesboro; two sons, James Martin of Cleveland and Dennis Pace of Warren, Mich.; two brothers, James Stewart of Lake City and Richard Stewart of Jonesboro; 18 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Fowler officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Leif Lovins, Josh Barber, Kyle Cantrell, Ryan James, Brandon James and Fenando Valencia.

Honorary pallbearers included James and Richard Stewart.
