Patricia Brown, 59, of Caraway, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Born in Monette, she lived awhile in Jackson, Miss., but lived most of her in Caraway. She was a bookkeeper for Faulkner Tax Service in Caraway and was a member of First Baptist Church in Caraway where she taught Sunday School and served as Vacation Bible School director.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Brown, and her parents, Leroy and Dortha Powell Gauf.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brandee and Matt Roberson of Caraway; a sister, Terry Gauf of Caraway; a brother, Michael Gauf of Caraway; and four grandchildren, Nikolas, Abbeegayl, Keech and Mia Belle.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at First Baptist Church in Caraway with Rick Stevens and Jeff Heitman officiating. Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers were Mitchell Tipton, John Elinburg, Larry Barrett, Barry Riley, Jerry Brown and Gary Wallace. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ladies Sunday school class.
