William Lee Barrett, 58, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at the Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Born at Hayti, Mo., he was a former Michigan resident and had lived in Jonesboro for the past 20 years. He was a retired tree trimmer, a member of the Childress Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Vanidver Barrett, of Jonesboro; two sons, Roy Barber of Black Oak and Keith Barber of Jonesboro; a daughter, Tina Harrison of Jonesboro; his parents, Melvin and Bernice Lee Faulkner of Alamo, Tenn.; six sisters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Nathan Primm officiating. Burial will follow in Macey Cemetery near Monette.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
