Jo Ann Hensley, 88, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Monette Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Hensley was born at Savannah, Tenn., and lived most of her life in the Caraway area. She was a homemaker, and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hensley; her parents, Lum Edward Austin and Donnie Hopper Austin, and a son, Columbus Beasley.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Westphal, Betty MacDonald, Dollie Schmidt and Jeannie Babbitt, all of northern Michigan; a brother, Glen Austin, Sr., of Rivervale; a special nephew and his wife, Bonny and Billie Austin of Caraway; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Monday in Caraway Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Stevens officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
