Lake City native and Riverside High School Alum Gavin Stone continues to have a solid season with the National League West leading Los Angeles Dodgers. Stone’s team has won 17 of his 25 starts this season, including four in a row capped by L.A.’s 8-6 win Saturday over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Stone has compiled an overall record of 11-5 this season. During August, the right-handed throwing pitcher had six starts, pitching 32.2 innings, giving up 15 runs, all earned, on 27 hits. Stone issued seven walks in those starts while picking up 34 strike outs. His best start was Aug. 19 against the Seattle Mariners, when he went seven innings, allowing no runs on only two hits, walked two and struck out 10 in the 3-0 victory.

For the season Stone has pitched 140.1 innings, giving up 133 hits, 55 runs (all earned), while walking 37 and striking out 116 batters. Stone’s earned run average is 3.53.
