The Marked Tree Indians (0-1) will travel to Manila (0-1) to take on the Lions in non-conference football action at Lions Stadium. The Indians are coming off a 48-30 loss to Newport and Manila is coming off a 28-7 loss at Paragould.
Ken Carter directs the Indians’ offense and can hurt teams with his arm and his legs. T.J. Hodges topped 100 yards with a touchdown last week while still recovering from an injury. J.J. Risper, Tate Swink and Jonah Walker are targets for Walker when he takes to the air. Ryan Wages anchors the Indians offensive line. Manila will have Issac Moore leading the Lions’ offense with Matthew Walker lining up behind him at running back. Tackle Landon Harris will lead the Manila offensive line.
Middle linebackers for each team will lead the defenses as Patrick Fisher mans that position for the Lions and a healthy Jonah Walker is back for Marked Tree. Kaleb Birmingham will try to slow down the Indians’ run game as Swink and Risper are sure tacklers for the Indian defense. Luke Roberts will lead the secondary in defending the passing game of the Indians while Dawon Smith will do the same for the Marked Tree defense.
Manila beat Marked Tree 22-8 the last time the teams played in 2021. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Lion Stadium.
