During Wednesday’s Mississippi County Personnel Committee meeting, several justices of the peace discussed the lawsuit filed by County Judge John Alan Nelson against the Quorum Court. Justice Bill Nelson made the motion after discussion to allow the Quorum Court members to hire a lawyer on their behalf to represent them in the lawsuit, which contends the Financial Management Office should report to the Office of the Mississippi County Judge as it did before the Mississippi County Quorum Court moved the ability to hire and fire a finance director from the county judge’s office to the county treasurer in November.. ...
