The hospital tax debate is still going on, but I need to acknowledge a mistake I made in my last letter and offer a few more opinions on this matter while I'm writing. I realize now that the two hospitals are owned by Mississippi County and are being managed by an outside agency. ...

So owning a home is a great thing, right? You get to put your money into something that's actually yours every month, and you're not just throwing it down the endless black hole that is rent, and plus the American Dream and picket fences and puppies and apple pie and blah blah blah.

Mississippi County Judge Randy Carney has come out in favor of the proposed hospital tax, but said he has his own reasons for supporting it, and does have some reservations about the plans, or lack thereof, which have been announced by the hospital system's steering committee.

In today's technological environment, it can often be hard to keep up with the times, but the Blytheville Police Department is making a concerted effort not only to keep the department up to speed on commonly used technologies, but to pave the way with new ideas and implementations.
