Sierra Group Roofing and Solar is expanding and has announced a new headquarters to be located in Blytheville on May 25.

The 11,000 square foot facility is a $1.6 million investment into the city and is expected to create 40 full time jobs to the area. The expansion, located at 101 West Walnut, comes as the company transitions into metal roofing products. They will specialize in standing seam, R-panel, gutters and metal roofing accessories created with galvanized steel and galvalume.

Galvanized steel roofing coats the steel with a layer of zinc to minimize the potential of rust. It also provides a long-lasting roof, as zinc adds protection from the elements. Galvalume is a steel coating produced with a zinc as well, but also includes aluminum and silicon. It also adds a layer of energy efficiently to homes and is expected to reduce both cooling and heating expenses.

With this new facility, the Sierra Group Roofing and Solar is looking to meet the roofing needs throughout the regions of Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri, West Tennessee, and North Mississippi.

“Today’s announcement reiterates our commitment to Mississippi County and the State of Arkansas by providing the best supply chain solution and value add to our markets,” president and chief executive officer Marcos Sierra said in the press release. “Our intention with this investment is to offer our customers in the region the combined benefit of localized service and access to local resources.”

The company was founded in 2013 and has provided both exterior and interior construction solutions to residents and business owners. They surpassed over 250 projects within they’re first six years of operating.

Victoria Sierra, wife and business partner of Marcos, serves as the vice president of the company. It is also certified as a minority and women owned business enterprise under the Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Certification Program, which is administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

“It’s always good to see a company that started in the community to advance further in the area and region. We want to thank the Sierra Group for the investment they’ve put into Blytheville and employing people within the community to help make it better,” Mayor James Sanders said.
