Dennis Ray Shaver

Dennis Ray Shaver, 78, formerly of Leachville, passed from this life Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Unity Health Hospital in Searcy. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Harlan Ray and Robbie Nelle Jones Shaver. He was a 1964 graduate of Leachville High School and later received a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Dennis was employed as an electrical engineer for the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, Mo., for over 25 years. Following his retirement he had lived several years in Hot Springs before returning to Northeast Arkansas. Dennis was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by a son, Christopher Shaver of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Sandra Kate Chapman of Jonesboro; niece, Dana Lea Wheeler; nephew, Douglas Wayne Davis; great-niece, Ashlynn Wheeler; and one granddaughter.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery.
