Charles Edward Watkins, Sr.

Charles Edward Watkins, Sr. of Luxora passed away March 3, 2023, at his home. He was in construction work, of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Watkins was born June 22, 1946, in Luxora to James Walter and Thelma Gillis Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earnest B. Watkins and John H. Watkins; three sisters, Rose Watkins and two infants; one granddaughter, Heather Franklin; and one great-grandson Dustin Beatty, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Watkins of Luxora; one son, Charles (Jenny) Watkins II of Luxora; two daughters, Vanessa (James) Godsey and Faye Franklin of Luxora; 10 grandchildren, Adena (Josh) Franks, Cassie Franklin, Randy (Haley) Franklin, Charles Watkins III, Cameron Watkins, Corbin Watkins, Kristen (Wes) Easley, James (Morgan) Godsey and Chase Godsey; 18 great-grandchildren, James Hice, Jr., Jaxon Franks, Joslin Franks, Chris Franks, Jaminson Franks, Blayke Franks, Willow Franks, Brycen Beatty, Kai Franklin, Caden Watkins, Carleigh Watkins, Corie Watkins, Winston Easley, Emma Easley, Waylon Godsey, Liam Dumas and Hudson Collard; special nephews, Jackie Fountain, JP Watkins, Sammy Watkins and Lisa Riggs.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Bro. James Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge of arrangements.
