Douglas Pierce

Douglas Pierce, born in Epson, England, on Aug. 29, 1958, died at his home in Gosnell on Sept. 1, 2022, at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Bert and Eileen Pierce. Douglas had an extensive educational background, later becoming an electrical engineer. He loved the Lord, his family and really enjoyed his grandkids. He also loved cats and Formula One racing. His interests included playing solitaire, chess and watching Jeopardy. He also enjoyed rebuilding things and mechanical work. And, he loved America! He was a member of The Living Word in Hardy.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Pierce, of Gosnell; two stepsons, Melvin Warren Jr. of Burdette and Kenneth Warren of Armorel; two stepdaughters, Angela Wilson of Gosnell and Michelle Kain of Trumann; two brothers-in-law, J.T. Hise of West Plains, Mo., and Rich Hise of Blytheville; two sisters-in-law, Evita Rowland of Tennessee and Theresa Smith of Redwood Falls, Minn.; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville, Mo., was in charge.
