J.W. Carder, 88, of Conway, went to be with his Lord on Sept. 2, 2022, at Salem Place Nursing Home in Conway. J.W. was born June 23, 1934, to the late Homer and Arnie (Howard) Carder-Hill in Leachville. At a young age J.W. began working for United Telephone Company, from 1954-1995. He attended Happy Corner Assembly of God Church, where he met and married the love of his life Loeda Ward-Carder. They were married for 65 years. He enjoyed playing his piano and singing hymnals with his children, grandchildren and caregivers. He loved the Lord and faithfully served him throughout his lifetime. J.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Bedford Carder and Arnie Lee (Howard) Carder-Hill; his loving wife, Catherine Loeda (Ward) Carder; his precious daughter, Deborah Darr; son-in-law, Ronald Darr; siblings, Homer (Helen) Carder, Bonnie (Glen) Smith, FG Moss, Clyde (Maxine) Carder, Benjamin (Betty) Carder and James (Deata) Carter.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Billy Carder and Patricia (John) Berryman; brother, Jackie (Susie) Hill; sister-in-law, Louise Cagle; grandchildren, Catherine (Jonathan) Baxter, Michael (Tiffany) Darr, Ashley (Ryan) Creech, Kevin (Kelli) Sheppard, Alisha Lonix, Jordyn Carder, Kyle (Cassie) Sheppard, Matthew Berryman, Madison Berryman, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Rev. Will Doughty and Rev. Dewey Turnage officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Kevin Sheppard, Kyle Sheppard, Michael Darr, Jonathan Baxter, Ryan Creech, and Nate Lonix.

The family wishes to extend many thanks to Arkansas Hospice for the care and love they have shown.
