Bonnie Glover McLeod, 88, of Blytheville, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022.

Bonnie was born to Willard and Ladrenia Hollis Glover. She was a 1953 graduate of Blytheville High School and was a lifelong resident of Blytheville. She enjoyed getting together with her classmates and coordinating their class reunions. Bonnie was an active member of First Baptist Church. She worked at Montgomery Ward where she retired after 26 years. Bonnie volunteered most of her time to the community, especially at the Baptist Memorial Hospital gift shop. She was the co-founder of the local cancer support group, Flying Colors. Bonnie served as the past district president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was also the Girls State chairman for many years. In addition to serving her community and church, Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.J. McLeod; son, Damon McLeod; granddaughter, Laura Hawkins; brothers, Bobby Ray Clark and Van Cris Glover; and son-in-law, Paul Gardner.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Kerrie McLeod of Blytheville and Sharon Gardner of Caruthersville, Mo.; grandchildren, Jennifer Huffman and her husband Matthew of Blytheville, Allison Gardner of Joplin, Mo., and Graham Gardner of Southaven, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Layla, Luna and Tuff Huffman; and her former daughter-in-law, Chong Sim Ostrom, and her husband David and their children, Tiffany and Eric.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Jim Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Bonnie’s honor to the First Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
