Delora Dillon
Delora Dillon, 85, of Manila, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022.
She was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Monette. Delora lived most of her life in Manila where she attended Manila High School. She was a member Manila First Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her church as youth leader, choir member, Sunday school teacher and many other areas. She loved her Lord and Savior. She proudly supported her husband’s military service in the Air Force. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling, fishing, Cardinal baseball, gardening, volunteering with her daughter’s school programs and doting over her flowers. She also enjoyed helping others as much as she could. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tommy Dillon (Christy) of Manila and Diane Hay (Bruce) of Blytheville; brothers, John Buchanan and Wayne Buchanan, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Mandy Carpenter and Brad Dillon (Holly), all of Manila; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Dillon, Dylon Carruth, Brayden Carpenter, Jaicee Dillon, Ethan Dillon, Zane Dillon, Hunter Lee; great-great-grandson, Rosten Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dillon; mother, Ellen Buchanan; father, Floyd Welch; stepfather, Frank Buchanan; siblings, Barbara Buchanan Herrington and Dale Buchanan; great-granddaughters, Ella Carpenter and Kyra Carpenter.
A celebration of her life was 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Interment followed at Monette Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was from 1:30 until time of service at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Curtis Walker, Sr., Louis Horton, Doug Storey, Jimmy Hicks, Greg Smith and Tommy Towles.
