Rochester L. Taylor

Rochester L. Taylor was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Blytheville to Isaiah Taylor and Dora Mae (Bell). To this union 14 children were born. He moved to Miami, Fla., in 1964 and then he returned home in 2008, where he united at New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lawrence Echols where he was a faithful member until death. He departed this life July 25, 2022, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Dora Taylor; six brothers, Vester Lee, Ivory Lee, Harry, James, Edward Taylor, Allen Taylor, Percy Taylor; six sisters, Maggie Richardson (J.B.), Robbie Childs (Robert), Loretta Taylor, Annette Johnson, Montina Johnson, Joann Middlebrooks.

He leaves to mourn his death Margaret Davis, Robert Taylor (son), Pamela Taylor (daughter), all of St. Louis, Mo., (sister) Lillie Pearl and Otis McCauley both of Chicago, Ill., (brother) Auther Johnson of Chicago, Ill., (cousin) Sharon Bell-Clarke of Blytheville, half-sister Shirley Marshall of Blytheville, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

There will be a memorial on behalf of Rochester on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m at New Mt. Olive Missionary Church. Rev. Douglas Echols officiating. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home at 1020 S. Division Blytheville.
