James E. Bevill

James E. Bevill, 85, of Gosnell, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home.

James was born in Gosnell to Andy and Geneva Wisdom Bevill. He was a retired farmer and was also retired from the USDA where he worked for 39 years. James was a member of Northside Church of Christ where he was an elder of the church. He served as a deacon and teacher, and was the chairman of the benevolence committee. James was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Gosnell Pirates, Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals. James enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for farming and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife, Sarah Flaherty Bevill of the home; children, Jason Bevill and his wife Michelle of Hot Springs Village and Blake Bevill of Longwood, Fla.; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Raleigh, Coleman, Laney, Adaline, and Parker Bevill; sisters, Claudette Miller and Barbara Peterson, both of Jonesboro; and very special caregivers, Priscilla Jaramillo and Dorothy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Mon., August 1, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bill Drake officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in James’ honor to the Northside Church of Christ.
