Dana James Mullins

Dana James Mullins, 64, of Lakeview, went to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior and God his father surrounded by his family after a long, courageous medical battle on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Dana was born in Blytheville to M.J. and JoAnn Mullins. Dana graduated from Blytheville High School in 1975 where he was a decorated athlete, specifically in football. Dana lived a full life and believed that it was important he leave this life with a lasting impact on his friends and family. In early life, Dana grew up on the family farm in Blytheville and began farming at a young age. He later started his own business scouting crops and continued until moving into the steel business. It was here where he spent the remainder of his career building steel mills and then later as a buyer. Along the way and across many states, Dana was able to gain many friends, most of which he would consider family. Family meant everything to Dana, and he always made sure to make time for them. Dana was also an avid outdoorsman and spent his free time going on hunting and fishing trips whenever possible. Dana was able to retire to the Mountain Home area in 2018 where he was able to enjoy the lake and fellowship with his friends and family.

Dana was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Mullins of Blytheville.

Dana is survived by his children, Matthew and Rachel Mullins of Blackwater, Mo., Jordan and Crystin Mullins of Maumelle and Lani and Nick Eddy of Danville, Ala.; father, M.J. Mullins of Blytheville; his siblings, Mike and Joyce Mullins of Sherwood, Tracy and Jackie Plunkett of Blytheville and Leslie and Tommy Mason of Blytheville; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and countless friends that will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Dana’s life will be held Friday, May 20, at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Dana’s honor to the youth group of the First United Methodist Church, 605 West 6th Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
