Billy Wayne Perry, 87, of Leachville, passed from this life Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his home. Born in Ravenden, he was the son of the late Robert Grover and Lena Harris Perry and had been a longtime resident of Flint, Mich., before making his home in Leachville in 1973. Bill retired from General Motors Corporation in Flint with 20 years of service. He was devoted to his wife, family and his relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During the last several years of his life, he dedicated himself to taking care of his wife due to her severe osteoporosis. He was a hardworking man. He along with his grandson cut down many trees on his property. Bill was known as a sweet and kind man as was obvious due to his visits and entertaining the residents of Monette Manor Nursing Center by playing music for them. He was especially fond of the old gospel songs. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as fishing, traveling, working in his yard and was known to always be fixing something. He was a longtime member of the Second Baptist Church in Leachville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert G. Perry and Gerald L. Perry; three sisters, Imogene Powell, Pauline Ware and Maxine Rowley; and one grandson, Brent Coursen.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Elnora Shrable Perry of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Coursen (Richard) of Sedro-Woolley, Wash., Patricia Perry and Cynthia Walls, both of Leachville; five grandchildren, Melissa Coursen Frazor, Bruce Coursen, Derek Walls, Jason Walls and Kevin Walls. He also leaves 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Richard Coursen officiating. The family will receive visitors Tuesday morning from 10 until service time. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Finch Cemetery near Paragould. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
