Berniece Wicker

Friday, March 18, 2022

On March 17, 2022, Berniece Wicker left this world the way she lived it, with a smile on her face and thinking of others. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was a quick-witted, super smart, fun loving woman. Always the lady, she was rarely seen without lipstick and earrings. She was the life of the party and the Queen of Hand and Foot. Family was very important to Berniece. She was a caring and supportive wife and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was always interested in their lives. She was a great listener and wise counsel. Her love of family was fierce and unconditional. Berniece Wicker was a member of First Baptist Church in Hollandale, Miss. She sang in the choir and Christmas Cantata. She was active in Young at Heart, visited residents of nursing homes, cooked meals for those in need, and was a dedicated member of the community Emmaus group. She lived her life loving God and serving others. Lyla Berniece Wicker was born in Blytheville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, FL Wicker; her parents, VD and Alma Medlin Overman; her sisters, Edna Overman and Lounelle Poore.
