Lesia Lynnette Swift Yankaway, 54, of Osceola passed away Feb. 28, 2022, at South Mississippi County Hospital in Osceola. She was a McDonald’s manager and a member of Jehovah Witnesses. Ms. Yankaway was born Oct. 25, 1967 in Osceola to James Swift and Olivery Davis Stewart. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Derrick Yankaway Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Olivery Stewart of Osceola; one son, Derrick Yankaway Jr. of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Ebony Yankaway of Osceola and Laquita Yankaway (Tommy McGowan) of Osceola; three special nieces, Ulyssia Richmond of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ciairra Flowers of Memphis, Tenn., and Aleshia Holmes of Jonesboro; one brother, Charles Swift of Rock Island, Ill.; six sisters, Melidia Hannah of Memphis, Tenn., Margaret James and Shontae Jacobs of Osceola, Doris Swift and Lisa Robinson of Rock Island, Ill., Pamela Swift-Rudolph (Steve) of Grayson, Ga.; four grandchildren, Leriyas Williams, Jayden Yankaway, Messiah Yankaway and Dearrius Yankaway.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at New LIfe Global Ministry in Osceola with Prophet Dreniecesa Thompson officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of arrangements.
