Robert James Hooks Sr.

Robert James Hooks Sr., 64, of Luxora passed away Feb. 24, 2022, at his residence. He was a retired American Greetings factory worker and a member of New Salem M.B. Church in Luxora. Mr. Hooks was born May 21, 1957, in Osceola to Leandrew and Johnnie Mae Dodds Hooks Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leandrew Hooks Jr. and Michael Hooks Sr.; and one sister, Velma Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hooks of Luxora; one son, Robert (Traci) Hooks Jr. of Joiner; one daughter, Jamilya Hooks of Jonesboro; three brothers, Calvin (Laverne) Hooks Sr. of Jonesboro, Tommy Lee Hooks Sr. and Paul Hooks of Marietta, Ga.; seven sisters, Geraldine Carpenter and Linda Barfield of Osceola, Rosie Hooks and Dorothy Taylor of Marietta, Ga., Gala Mosley of Vicksburg, Miss., Freddie Thomas of Jonesboro and Donna Chew of Luxora.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, from 12-1 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. at New Salem M.B. Church in Luxora. Burial will be at Luxora Cemetery in Luxora with Rev. MacArthur Hampton officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of arrangements.
