Ben Edward Davis, 87, of Jonesboro, formerly of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born and raised in the Lost Cane community near Manila, he was the son of the late Sam and Odell Benson Davis and had been a lifelong Manila area resident until making his home in Jonesboro three years ago. In his earlier years, Ben enjoyed dancing and fast cars. Later in life he enjoyed woodworking, traveling and visiting with his buddies at the coffee shop. He was a long time member of New Harmony Baptist Church near Manila. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Owens Davis, in 2011 and one sister, Nina Jean Griffith.

Survivors include one son, Tony Davis and his wife Lavon of Jonesboro; one sister, Shirley Davis of Blytheville; three grandchildren, Johnathan Moore and his wife Annette, Chelsea Davis as well as Ashley Pettus and her husband Lee. He also leaves six great-grandchildren, Bailee Moore, Kinley Moore, Wadynn Moore, Bo Moore, Aiden Davis and Rylee Pettus.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday from noon until service time. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
