Walter Floyd Ashley, 81, of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at Gosnell Healthcare.

Walter was born in Luxora to Clarence Edward Ashley and Julia Mae Jessie Lee Moore Ashley and was retired from Bush Canning Company. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Family was most important to Walter. He always put his family first and would do his best to give them the world.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie Ashley and his second wife, Ruth Ann Moore Ashley; daughter, Wanda Smith; brothers, William, Bobby, Kenneth, Les, Billy and Donald Ashley; and sister, Earline Ashby.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Tammy Penney and her husband Barry of Blytheville; grandchildren, Jonathan Penney, Rebecca McKinney, Kaitlyn Penney, Heather Thibault and Brandi Russell; five great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Ashley of Blytheville; sisters, Brenda Kellogg of Muldrow, Okla., and Peggy Sanders of Blytheville; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Silvey officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
