Mary Ann Edwards was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Catron, Mo., to Coris Jr. and Hattie Cooper. Mary gained her wings on Jan. 30, 2022, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo., at the age of 68. Mary received Christ at an early age. She was a true servant in church until her health issues wouldn’t allow her to attend. She loved to cook, spend time with family and friends, and laugh and joke with her children. She was known by many and will truly be missed by each and every one that she came in contact with especially her mother, children, siblings and other close family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Coris Cooper Jr.; husband, Joe Louis Edwards; significant other of 34 years William Wright; paternal grandparents, Coris Sr. and Gertrude Cooper; maternal grandparents, George Allen and Ollie Mae Jackson; one brother, Steven Cooper; one grandson, Daime’Air Edwards; three great-grandsons, Ayden and Jayden Lane, and Derik DJ Davis; and one son-in-law, Charles E. Knight Jr.

Mary leaves to cherish her legacy and memories her mother, Hattie Cooper of Steele, Mo.; four daughters, JoAnn Cooper-Knight of Gosnell, Sandi Edwards and Tracy Edwards of Holland, Mo., and Kristy Edwards of Steele, Mo.; four sons, Timothy Edwards and Don Edwards of Jefferson City, Mo., Anthony Edwards of Holland, Mo., and Kendall KC Wright of Harrisburg, Penn.; four sisters, Charlene Lewis of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Rosie Aldridge of Dallas, Texas, Christine Clerkley (Steven) Temecala, Calif., Rosie Cooper-Finley (Jerome) of Steele, Mo., and Jenny Lynn Cooper of Michigan City, Ind.; two brothers, Robert Cooper of Steele, Mo., and Dennis Cooper of Dallas Texas; one god daughter, Chentele Smith (Eric) of Blytheville; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, aunts, uncle and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, from 12:00 (noon) until 12:55 p.m. at Morning Star M.B. Church 111 Boswell, Steele, Mo. 63877. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
