James Crenshaw was born March 30, 1941, to Cecil and Estelle White Crenshaw in Blytheville. James grew up in a large and loving family of nine brothers and eight sisters.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Benjamin. On Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, James passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 80.

He is survived by eight brothers, Lucious Crenshaw of Richmond, Vir., George (Barbara) Crenshaw of Gary, Ind., Oliver (Violet) Crenshaw also of Gary, Ind., Mose (Mary) Crenshaw of Waynesboro, Miss., Willie (Tasha) Crenshaw of Memphis, Tenn., Cecil Clay (Schniver) Crenshaw of Pineville, La., Orman Troy (Rozella) Crenshaw of Gary, Ind., Frederick (Stephanie) Crenshaw of Loganville, Ga.; eight sisters, Galena McGrew of Gary, Ind., Rosie Ann(Larry) Rendell also of Gary, Ind., Betty Lewis of Warren, Mich., Dorothy Goosby of Little Rock, Laverne Joseph of Mishawaka, Ind., Verlinia Shabazz of Atlanta, Ga., Myrtle Palmer of Destrehan, La., and Dottie Crenshaw of Jacksonville, Fla,; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 4, from 5-7 p.m. at God’s Holy Temple Church, 2065 South Division, Blytheville, where Bishop Randy Crenshaw and Evangelist Sandra Crenshaw are the pastors.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m at God’s Holy Temple. Bishop Randy Crenshaw will deliver the eulogy with interment following in Dogwood Cemetery.
