Philip Joseph Credle, Jr., 81, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Philip was born in Norfolk, Vir., to Philip and Elizabeth Fleming Credle. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Philip retired from the Air Force as a tech sergeant after 20 years of service. After retirement, Philip served as the Blytheville City Collector for 23 years. He was an active, faithful member of First United Methodist Church, was the past master of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Philip was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Philip is survived by his wife, Florence Ambrose Credle of the home; son, Kent Ritchey of Holly Springs, Miss., and daughter, Robin Fritchman of Little Rock; grandchildren, Rob Moore, Alexx Conley, Jake Ritchey, Cole Ritchey, Jack Ritchey and Jacqueline Fritchman; great-grandson, Reed Ritchey; and best friend, Harold Cole of Blytheville.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Zach Roberts officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. The family request memorials be made in Philip’s honor to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Blytheville Humane Society.
