This CO2 container exploded in a city of Blytheville garbage truck on Thursday.

The Blytheville Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of Park Lane Thursday morning after a sanitation truck explosion.

"Upon arrival the fire department determined an explosion had occurred and one sanitation worker had been injured and transported to Great River Medical Center for unknown injuries," BFD fire marshal Daniel Holifield said. "During the investigation a CO2 Cylinder was located as the cause of the explosion. It appears to have been an unused Home Soda Maker Kit bottle. It is recommended to all citizens to properly dispose of compressed cylinders according to manufacturer recommendations and not simply toss them in the trash."
