Willie Winchester

Willie Winchester was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Tunica, Miss., to Willie and Ruby Mae Turner Winchester. Willie was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He served as a deacon, Sunday teacher, choir member and usher at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Homestown, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 48 years, Palmer Winchester. On Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, Willie transitioned at the age of 84.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Keith Winchester of Union, Ky.; and Willie Earl Winchester, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; five daughters, Kiesha McGaughy of the home, Valerie Carter of Indiana, Denise Cooper of Chicago, Ill., Donna Winchester of Long Beach, Calif., Sabrina Morris and Sandra Day, both of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 19, from 11 a.m. until services begin at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1825 State Hwy. B, Homestown, Mo., where Reverend Gary Tobar is the pastor. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon. Reverend Gary Tobar will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in the Homestown Cemetery.
