Eddie Mae Pickens, 85, of Lepanto passed away Dec. 11, 2021, at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Miss Pickens was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Lepanto to Clint and Jessie Mann Freeman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Pickens; four sons; one set of twins, Joseph Freeman and Tommy Lee Freeman; four brothers, Ovester Freeman, Clint Freeman Jr., Mose Mitchell Freeman, Henry L. Freeman; two sisters, Mildred Odessa Butler and Bonnie Beth Jamison.

She is survived by two sons, Donald (Carolyn) Coleman of Lepanto and Ronald (Rene) Coleman of Lepanto; three daughters, Carolyn Madlock of Lepanto, Jessie (Norvell) Darlene Young of Lepanto, Wendy (A.J.) Ruth Burnside of Freeport, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 17, from 3-5 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Lepanto. Burial will be at Pine Rest Cemetery in Lepanto with Minister Zachery Patterson officiating.
