Kathy Cody of Osceola was born in Chicago, Ill., on June 28, 1967, to James and Barbara Whaley McFerrin. She was employed at Fruit of the Loom, and H&R Block. Kathy was a faithful and devoted member of Tabernacle Church of God in Christ serving as the church’s secretary for more than 35 years. Kathy attended and received her Associate Degree from Cotton Boll Vo-Tech.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, James McFerrin, Sr., and two daughters, Pamela Cody and Renee Newbern. Kathy passed away Dec. 11, 2021, at Arkansas Continued Care Center in Jonesboro at the age of 54.

She leaves to cherish her love and memories her husband, Robert Cody of the home; her mother, Mrs. Barbara Herring of Jonesboro; five sons, Jason (Jessica) Cody of Jonesboro, Charles (Olivia) Cody of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael (Audrey) Cody of Conway, Johnny (Connie) Cody of Pontiac, Mich., and Robert (Kathy) Cody, also of Pontiac, Mich.; six daughters, Phylynese McFerrin of Marion, Christina Gates and Shalonda (Tomorrow) Love, both of Blytheville, Felicia Cody of Mississippi, Barbara Cody of Texas and Kathryn Cody of Marion; four brothers, Kenneth McFerrin of Grand Rapids, Mich., Nathan (Precious) Hale of Jonesboro, Mark McFerrin of Chicago, Ill., and Timothy McFerrin, also of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Patricia (Hank) Herring of Jones-boro and Kim (Armando) Ramos of Murdock, Fla.; forty-four grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, from 11:00 until services begin at 1:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 121 East Cleveland Street, Blytheville, where Elder William Beal is the pastor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Elder William Beal will deliver the eulogy with burial at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
