June Ann Pennington

June Ann Pennington, 52, of Manila, passed from this life Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, in Leachville from injuries received during the recent tornado. Born in Osceola, she was the daughter of the late William “Doug” Carroll and had lived most of her life in Manila and Leachville. She was the assistant manager of the Dollar General store in Leachville. June enjoyed spending time with her friends and family especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, David Benefield and wife Shelley, Jeff Pennington and Chris Pennington, all of Manila; daughter, Christie Pennington and her companion, Brandon Johnson of Manila; mother, Paulette Jordan and her companion Steven Phillips of Drasko; three brothers, William Carroll of Greenbrier, Shawn Carroll of Blue Springs, Miss., and Billy Carroll of Greenbrier; one sister, Monica Lyons of Blue Springs, Miss. She also leaves her grandchildren, Mason Benefield, Garrett Benefield, Aiden Benefield and Jacob Benefield, Carson Pennington, Callie Jo Pennington, Jaxon Pennington, Kaisyn Johnson, Maddyn Johnson, Josh Nettles and Jerrod Nettles.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Graig Stull officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Gage Owen, Wesley Greer, Darden Benefield, Josh Nettles, Jason Bressler, Michael “Possum” Davis. The family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home in Leachville.
