Patricia “Pat” Ann Nelson

Patricia “Pat” Ann Nelson, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.

Pat was born in Greenwood, S.C., to Alan and Anna Adams Ormand. She was the head bartender and lounge manager for the Holiday Inn of Blytheville for 25 years and later worked for Wal-Mart as a cashier. After retirement, she moved to Davie, Fla., and finally settled in Powell, Tenn. She was a beautiful person who would often go out of her way to help anyone. Pat loved taking road trips, bowling, dancing, and to have her family all around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older brother, Larry Ormand of Washington; her sister, Shirley Blackley of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson, Tyler Thompson of Columbus, Miss.; and ex-husband, Richard Nelson (USN Ret.) of Blytheville.  

She is survived by her four daughters, Ryma Rocha (Rick) of Aventura, Fla., Susan Thompson of Columbus, Miss., Lisa Thorp (Jay) of Blytheville and Paula Scrivner (Brad) of Loudon, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved.  

A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
