Ted York, 85, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. He was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Blytheville to Theodore and Myrtle York. Ted enjoyed deer hunting in Texas and vacationing in Florida and Branson. He was a farmer and manager of Matthews Land Company at Bucoda. Ted was passionate about serving others and being active in the community. This was shown by his work on the National Cotton Council, the board at the Children’s Homes, Inc., and the Senath/Hornersville School Board. Ted was a member of 7th and Mueller Church of Christ where he previously served as an elder. He previously served as an elder at Senath Church of Christ. Ted was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frances York; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Byron Small, Laurie and Kevin Eubanks, April and Todd Gazaway, Amber and Steven Hill; sisters, Mary Kellett and Carolyn Sue Estes; grandchildren, Landon (Katie) Small, Dr. Luke (Colleen) Small, Tiffany (Jason) Nolen, Emily (Beau) Sisco, Kelsey Eubanks, Ben Gazaway, Aaron Gazaway, Levi Gazaway, Cruz Hill and Chloe Hill; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. until service time at 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould. The funeral service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will begin at 12 p.m. at 7th and Mueller Church of Christ with Larry McFadden and Micah Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Ted’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Stan Miller, Scot Matthews, Terry Lowry, Joe Dickinson, Bill Grogan, David Smith, Keith Milligan, and 7th and Mueller Class 400 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
