Lawtray Londrell Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, was born May 22, 1982, to Lawrence and Darlene Taylor Mitchell. He was a graduate of Lamar High School class of 2000.

Lawtray has a passion for his family, playing basketball and football. He enjoyed helping anyone he knew needed assistance, always with a big smile. Lawtray was an employee of Merch Trucking Company.

He confessed his hope in Christ at any early age and was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas. Lawtray was preceded in death by his older brother, Earnest Mitchell; his grandparents, R.L.Taylor, Earnest and Fannie Mitchell’ and an uncle, Charles White. Lawtrey departed life on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at the age of 39.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Tray Mitchell and Melanee Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas; his stepchildren, Kelon Jackson, Jailia Jackson, Donta Coady of Grand Prairie, Texas; his parents, Lawrence and Darlene Taylor Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister, Reniece (Wesley) Poindexter of North Carolina; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Taylor of Blytheville; his fiancee, Gena Smith; uncles, Robert Taylor, Terry (Nora) Taylor, Larry Taylor, Fredrick (Netta) Taylor, all of Blytheville; aunts, Evelyn Davis, Carol (Randy) Davis, Sandra Taylor, all of Fort Worth, Texas, Joyce Moss, Jennifer Williams, Patricia (Timmy) White, Lora (Johnny) Wright, Yolanda Taylor, Tanya Taylor, all of Blytheville, and Sandra Harris of Michigan; god brothers, Latron Taylor and Kenny Brown; god sister Latrice Moran; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1630 West Street, Blytheville. Reverend Benny Washington is the pastor and will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
