Joann Wilbanks

Joann Wilbanks of Gosnell was born Dec. 28, 1953, in Lost Cane to the late Lawerence Lee Wigginton and the late Alie D. Smith. Mrs. Wilbanks was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Wilbanks passed away Oct. 8, 2021, at her home in Gosnell at the age of 67.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawerence Lee Wigginton; her mother, Alie D. Smith; her daughter, Alie Marie Scissell; four brothers, Vernon Ladale Wigginton, Lawrence Wigginton, Ecclesiastis Wigginton and Charles Edgar Wigginton; and four sisters, Willie T. Wigginton, Katherine Jean, Wigginton, Travis Lawanda Wigginton and Mattie Beatrice Wigginton.

She is survived by four sons, Travis Eugene Scissell, Travis Joe Scissell, Larry Keith Scissell and Anthony Ray Scissell, all of Gosnell; her brother, Leander Wigginton of Caruthersville, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many friends.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 10-11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville with the funeral immediately following at 11 a.m., Bro. Mitchell King officiating. The burial will be held at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
