Thelma Louise “Lucy” Crawford

Thelma Louise “Lucy” Crawford, a Christian since the age of 11, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus, face to face on Sept. 20, 2021.

Lucy was born in the hospital on Blytheville Air Force Base to R.B. and Thelma Koehler Crawford, where her father was stationed during World War II. As a child, she lived with her family in Dell where her father was the superintendent of the Dell Cotton Compress Co., and her mother was a school teacher at Dell Elementary School. The family moved to Fresno, Calif., when Lucy was 13. Lucy attended the Fresno Unified School system and later graduated from California State University at Fresno with a bachelor’s degree and received her master’s degree from the University of San Francisco. She taught secondary education in the field of Home Economics, Vocational Education including Child Labor Laws and Career Education. Lucy was gifted in writing multiple grants for the school district which brought educational programs to help disadvantaged youth. She was an Ambassador for Christ, never shrinking back from telling others about her Savior, Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves her sister, Joan Crawford Sandlin, and her brother-in-law, David Sandlin of California.
