Vanessia Ann Smith

Vanessia Ann Smith of Blytheville was born May 14, 1963, in Columbus, Miss., to the late Earnestine Petty. She worked in housekeeping for a factory and was a member of Greater First Baptist in Steele, Mo. Mrs. Smith passed away Sept. 8, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 58. She was preceded in death by her mother, Earnestine Petty; brother, Roosevelt Petty; and sister, Shirley Finch.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Smith of Luxora; four sons, Anthony Williams of Blytheville, Melvin Smith, Jr. of Osceola, Will Smith, also of Blytheville, Lee Robinson of Luxora; one brother, Melvin Petty of Blytheville; four sisters, Betty Little, Viola Selvy and Bessie Williams, all of Blytheville, and Joann Petty of Jonesboro; and seven grandchildren.

The visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 17, from 12-2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m., Pastor John Selvy officiating. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
