Robert Elmer Buckner, Jr.

Robert Elmer Buckner, Jr., 70, of Payneway passed away Aug. 31, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a retired police officer, U.S. Army-Vietnam Era-veteran, attended Church of Christ and was a Mason. Mr. Buckner was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Sunset to Robert and Octavia McBride Buckner, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Buckner.

He is survived by his wife, Coreatha Buckner of Payneway; three daughters, Audrey Buckner Crutcher, Jennifer Buckner and Robin L. Wilson of West Memphis; one sister, Artherine Coleman of Lepanto, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 11 at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Burial was at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Cherry Valley with pastor Terry Carter officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza was in charge of all arrangements.
