Roy Lee Wright of Blytheville was born Jan. 31, 1940, in West Memphis to the late Samuel “Sugo” Wright and the late Willie Mae Moore Felton. He was a detailer for Littrell Ford and was a member of New Bethel M.B. Church in Blytheville. Mr. Wright passed away on Aug. 23, 2021, at Heritage Square Nursing Center in Blytheville at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Wright; his mother, Willie Moore Felton; and 12 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Thomas Wright of Blytheville; one daughter, Barbara Starnes of Blytheville; two grandchildren, Mercedes Starnes and Madison Starnes, both of Blytheville; six brothers, Samuel (Julia) Wright, Jr. of Belleville, Mich., Eddie (Rose) Wright of Southfield, Mich., Freddie (Merrida) Wright of Fayetteville, Ga., Thomas Wright of Detroit, Mich., David Felton of Bowling Green, Ky., and Robert Felton of Fond Du Lac, Wash.; 13 sisters, Jessie Mae of Chicago, Ill., Lowenstein (Rudolph) Ellis of Troy, Mich., Bernice Miller Turner, Cassandra (Gary) Strode, Kathy (Willie) Johnson, and Cynthia Wright all of Detroit, Mich., Brenda Joys (Willie) Richmond of St. Louis, Mo., Etoy Presley, Bernice Felton, Alice Carolyn Felton, and Jennifer Gail Simon, all of Appleton, Wis., and Cynthia Ann Felton and Andromeda Felton, both of Fond Du Lac, Wis.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 12 noon at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville, Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
