Marcie Lee Thompson of Blytheville was born Aug. 31, 1956, in Blytheville to the late William Golden and the late Hazel Chambers Golden. She was a teacher and was a member of Gospel Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Blytheville, where she was in the choir. Mrs. Thompson passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock on Aug. 22, 2021, at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her father, William Golden; mother, Hazel Chambers Golden; husband, Jessie Thompson; four brothers, Roy Golden, James Golden, Leon Golden and Lester Farris.

She is survived by two daughters, Tameka D. Golden and Casey (Willie) Watson, both of Blytheville; four brothers, Willie Golden of Blytheville, and Danny Golden, Charles Golden and Tony Golden, all of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Erma Jean Golden of Blytheville, Gloria Harris of Memphis, Tenn., Charlene Taylor of Detroit, Mich.; and three grandchildren, AaKeem Williams of Conway, Acoye Williams and Daisa Turner, all of Blytheville.

The visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace in Blytheville, with Pastor Charles Thomas officiating. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville.
