Lillie Ree Mitchell

Lillie Ree Mitchell was born Aug. 25, 1940, to Alvertis and Samella Horner in Marianna. Lillie departed this life on Monday July 5, in Bono at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Mitchell; one daughter, Tammie Murphy; three sisters, Veola Whitfield, Maelean Taylor and Elvertis Thomas; four brothers, Lenssie “Othlema”, Dewitt “Maxie”, Eveard and Larry Horner.

Lillie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Dr. L.B. Burton at Progressive Baptist Church. She was a faithful member at Progressive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony D. Burton, until her death. Lillie was on the Mother Board and Missionary Society.

She worked as a housekeeper for many years until retirement. She was an avid fisherman and loved to play in Senior Citizens Wii Tournaments. She loved playing different sports, especially pool and softball. She loved joining in family activities. Lillie loved her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Joe Rinkines of Lansing, Mich., Rickey (Gloria) Rinkines of Arizona, Oklahoma and Ronnie (Michelle) Rinkines of Cherokee, Okla.; one daughter, Mary Riggins of Lawton, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special niece/ caregiver, Lakesha Wiley; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, from 12:00 noon until 12:55 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation Chapel, 634 W. Main Street, Blytheville. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
